Minikon Law Office represents clients in a wide variety of immigration matters: individuals petitioning for a relative, businesses who wish to hire foreign-born employees or extend their terms of employment, persons in removal proceedings in Immigration Court, and persons detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The office assists prospective adoptive parents in filing the necessary paperwork to bring home their new addition to the family. For those who have lost a case before the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) or the Immigration Court, the office provides representation for the filing of an appeal or a motion to reopen the case. Attorney Minikon represents persons fleeing persecution in their home countries, clients who need to adjust their status so they can obtain their green cards, and lawful permanent residents who are seeking U.S. citizenship. This description is not exhaustive. If it is immigration-related, the office can represent you!
Business Planning and Support TOP
We can assist your business when planning your staffing needs, whether you have been in existence for many years, are just starting up, or are in the planning stages. A business planning session involves a review of your organization’s short and long term personnel needs and counsel on the best ways to achieve them utilizing U.S. immigration laws. There are many programs that businesses, large and small, can take advantage of in order to hire foreign-born workers. There are also programs for seasonal businesses and part-time employment situations. In addition, Minikon Law, LLC Office can assist businesses in meeting the requirements of the immigration regulations during the hiring process and can audit personnel files to spot issues that could become problematic. Our office realizes that for businesses, monitoring compliance with the immigration laws can require time and resources that cannot be spared. Business planning and support services are offered on an ongoing or project basis and meetings at the client’s place of business can be arranged with advanced notice and by request.

Expert Witness Services
When the situation requires documentation of the political conditions in a country, Attorney Minikon can produce an expert affidavit based on research and information from the field. Not all country conditions are documented by the popular sources, so knowing how to obtain credible and objective information to prove your case is important. Attorney Minikon’s time spent in Africa and her graduate work in International Politics with a regional focus on Africa makes her uniquely qualified to produce the support you need for your case.
Diaspora Capacity Building
As a direct result of working for close to two decades with members of the diaspora from Latin America and Africa, Attorney Minikon began providing guidance and advice to diaspora organizations. Most recently, she worked with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Liberia’s Diaspora Project. She is available on a project or ongoing basis to engage with diaspora organizations and assist them in increasing their capacity, obtaining funding, navigating the U.S. regulatory system, and consulting on other matters of concern.
